Marc Marceau

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Marc has explored a wide range of disciplines over the years: fitness, running, swimming, martial arts and combat sports including judo, aikido, kick-boxing and krav maga.

After wearing out countless pairs of running shoes, he eventually took up road cycling because, when you settle in Brittany, it is difficult to avoid this demanding sport — and it is a little kinder to the knees…

He “fell into” yoga more than 15 years ago through Françoise, his wife, who was just as passionate about physical exercise as he was — perhaps even more so! — and who became his first yoga teacher.

Having caught the bug thanks to her, he went on to train with Gérard Arnaud in Paris, where he gained certification to teach Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa and relaxation yoga. He subsequently completed Yin Yoga teacher training with Ariane Guitton. Both training programmes are accredited by Yoga Alliance, an international organisation.

His personal preference is for the more dynamic forms of yoga, but he also appreciates quieter practices and the paths that lead towards introspection and meditation.

Learning never ends, particularly in a discipline that is also a philosophy, a spirituality and a way of life. Marc therefore continues along that path and keeps practising with Gérard Arnaud, while also exploring other methods, styles and yoga lineages.

Everything is worthy of interest when it is taught by serious people who respect this age-old tradition — a tradition that has travelled all the way to us and continues constantly to reinvent itself.
